Hobbies

Hello, I’m Kim. As a lifelong tutor and learner, and the mother of a dyslexic daughter, I have first hand experience with different learning styles at all stages of life. Based on my decades of teaching and tutoring experience, I am able to customize our approach to what works best for you to be the most successful in your learning experience. As a student way back in high school, I was recruited by my teachers to tutor fellow students in math. As an MBA student, I was recruited by my professors to teach college level courses and tutor undergraduate students in Operational Management and Econometrics. During my stay-at-home mom phase, I became a tutor at a local university where I worked in the academic center with college students one-on-one tutoring math, business, science and computer science courses. The center also supported the local community by offering the tutoring services to primary school students. I had many families that entrusted me with their elementary, middle and high school students educational process. During this time, I also learned American Sign Language (ASL) which I used with the deaf and hard of hearing students in the academic center as well as performed in-class interpreting for math and business classes. As I have never stopped learning, I have also experimented with online learning platforms know as MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) which helped me to understand how online learning is done and how to collaborate with online study groups. This is beneficial for high school and university level students as well as adult learners because much of the content today is being packaged and delivered in these platforms. I look forward to joining your learning journey and acting as your partner to support what works best for you to succeed. Let’s get started!
